About Verrin

What is Verrin?

Verrin is a Shopify refund investigation application. Review order history, previous refunds, evidence and risk signals in one workspace.

Does Verrin automatically reject refunds?

No. Verrin supports the investigation process. The merchant remains responsible for the final refund decision.

Does Verrin issue refunds?

No. Verrin does not automatically approve, reject or issue refunds.

What does the risk score mean?

The score summarises investigation signals. Verrin shows the contributing signals and context; the score does not decide the refund outcome.

Can Verrin review older orders?

Yes, when the merchant grants the relevant Shopify permission.

Is uploaded evidence scanned?

Yes. New evidence uploads are malware-scanned before use.

Does Verrin work inside Shopify?

Yes. Verrin is designed as an embedded Shopify application.

Can I change plans?

Yes. Available plans can be changed through Shopify’s billing flow, subject to applicable plan rules.

Refund abuse

What is refund abuse?

Refund abuse is the misuse of a merchant’s refund or returns process. It can include repeated or misleading claims, policy misuse or other behaviour that warrants closer review. Refund fraud generally refers more specifically to deliberate deception.

Is every unusual refund claim fraudulent?

No. An unusual pattern is a reason to review a claim more closely, not proof of fraud. Verrin presents relevant context and signals while leaving the final decision to the merchant.

How can Shopify merchants investigate suspicious refund claims?

Merchants can review the original order, previous refunds, customer account context, claim timing and supporting evidence. Verrin brings that information into one investigation and records the review process.

Does Verrin decide whether a refund is fraudulent?

No. Verrin does not automatically label customers as fraudulent or approve, reject or issue refunds. It supports the merchant’s investigation and records the final decision.
